Notes for map design 1

-We decided to work off of Tang Pham's original project because

the concept and gameplay had a lot of potential

-His concept had some key elements we definitely wanted to keep and adjust.

-map design

-Resource use

-Obstacles

-we agreed toadding more spaces inbetween resources and obstacles

-agreed on making it so we're building up resources so that we could make "home bases" aka temporary resource storage

-Increase amount of resources that a player needs to ultimately win

-"Cave" is made more difficult to enter so that players are encouraged to play the map and make tougher choices

-players now start with a certain amount of resources

2000 wood

2500 stone

3000 oil

Notes for map design 3

-we decided to completely redesign the map because we found that gameplay could get boring

-We decided on a new game and map design as shown on image 3

-After play testing the game, it showed us that drawing cards to move on the map will make the game end very fast. So we decided to change the moving method to using 6-sided dice roll.

-Change the color on the map to black and red, and change the rule of movement

-Draw the dice to determine the turn. The player has the highest number will go first

-Instead of Drawing the effect color cards based on the color of the card that a player drawn from the desk of card, now it based on the color of the space the player land on the map

- Change some of the effect of the old cards

-Add more new effect cards into color cards desk

-We still need to change the name of the game and the theme

-time travelers is not going to work for this type of game

New rules for Map design 3

Rule and objectives:

-Each player will roll the dice to determine the turn

-Player who got a highest number will go 1st

-After decided who is the 1st one to go, the players will start to move foward by rolling the dice

-And they will also draw one card from the deck of red cards or the deck of black cards based on the color of the space that then landed on

-Each card will have each special effect on the player or their opponent either to make their way to the end easier or harder.

-If a player draws a black card, that player must do what is written on the card right away

-If a player draws a red card, that player can use it to cast on the other player right away or save up for the other turn to use. The maximum amount of red card that a player can save up is 3 cards.

-If a player has 4 red cards in their hand, they will give up 1 of their red card to the next player. If that player already had 3 red cards, then the card will be passed down to the next player and so on.

-If all of the player already have 3 red cards on their hands and cannot take any more card, then the given card will be disposed.

-The objective of this game is racing game, and strategy.

-The player who can make to the end point 1st will be the winner. The objective is to prevent the others from being the 1st one gets to the finish point and also use the luck and advantages to be the 1st winner

Notes for map design 3 Card versions 2.

-certain ideas for cards are scrapped and new ideas are brought up

-we decide that players cannot use red cards to defend another player

-we notice that the game's pace was too fast so we decided on more powerful black cards

-adjustments are made to red card power

Notes for Final card design

-After various play test we decide that the current state of the cards are fine

-various name changes to cards so that they fit the theme

-slight adjustments on graphics on cards

-final card designs are printed

Final Map and cards

-Final map is printed out and laminated (four total pieces)

-final cards are printed out and laminated (52 total cards)

-final map and cards are play tested and we deem it successful & fun!!
